The difficult times just keep rolling in and the idea of that much needed getaway sometimes appears to be moving further away. It’s clear that we know as much about what travel regulations will be in force next week as we do about where we stand with Brexit. Nonetheless, some of our clients decided to take the plunge… and they’ve come home overjoyed.
Everyone wants things to go back to normal and the travel industry is doing what it can to make sure everything is as safe as possible. Airlines, airports, transfers and hotels are all monitoring social distancing, requesting everyone wear face coverings and urging people to wash their hands at every opportunity. There’s no denying it, they’re doing a fantastic job and adapting to the requirements on a daily basis.
If you’re confident to travel and able to quarantine regardless, then there are some fantastic deals to be had right now. It's clear people are desperate to get away, especially when reassured that a resort has been made Covid-safe.
I have missed my own summer vacation this year too, not due to any fear factor but needing to be on hand to deal with the comprehensive workload. I intend to get away at the earliest opportunity, which is very likely to be somewhere in the mountains.
Speaking of which, we have seen a sharp increase in enquiries for ski holidays over Christmas and early next year, as well as lots of interest in 2021.
Many people have missed honeymoons, weddings and special celebrations in 2020, so we also expect to see a lot of people making up for lost time next year.
Demand is high and availability will soon be limited, so with flexible arrangements being offered, if you’re in a position to book early while the price is low, now is a good time.
As for us, it’s great to be back in the shop. We are currently still operating with reduced staff and kindly ask everyone where possible to make an appointment before coming in - but if you're passing, please come and say hello.
You may also get to see my daughter, Talya, who is currently helping out.
We also won an award! Possibly the happiest news we’ve had in recent times and it has definitely helped boost morale. Thanks to the team at SME News - we’re super chuffed.
As always, thank you for the continued kind messages of support and positivity. I hope everyone is well and keeping safe.
