We had a wonderful trip to Kefalonia, arranged and booked by Shelley, and needless to say everything worked perfectly.
Transfers to and from Argostoli to Fiskardo took 75 minutes - slightly less time than expected. We had good drivers each time, which was great because the west coast road is spectacularly beautiful but also fairly hairy!
The Almyra hotel was so welcoming and intimate. The staff, particularly Eleni, Jacob and Marianna, were absolutely lovely. They all spoke excellent English and nothing was too much trouble.
Light lunches were available which were very good. The free shuttle from the hotel into Fiskardo was a great help. The Hotel also has an extensive library available to guests.
All in all, a real find.
There are plenty of excellent places to eat. Mirellas, Foki Taverna At Foki beach, St Nikolas Taverna and La Gorouda in Fiskardo and Sunset beach where we ate delicious grilled sea bream while watching the sun set over the sea.
We did a lot of walking and admiring the views. Kefalonia is very green and unspoiled, and swimming in the incredibly clear seas is such a pleasure.
We returned relaxed and refreshed.
