I started in the travel industry in 1986, and joined Abbotts Travel in 1997. Working in travel is a lot of fun. Even after all these years, I’m still learning every day.
Where I’ve Been
Gran Canaria, and particularly Maspalomas which seemed to have everything families will need.
I think Morocco is ideal for a short break; Agadir for its beach and water sports, Marrakech for the gorgeous Atlas Mountains and shopping in the souks.
Costa Dorada, Costa Del Sol and Majorca. Popular resorts which range from the lively – something for everyone, to beautiful beaches to rustic charm.
The Algarve is a treat as well, ranging from the bustling resort of Albufeira to the charming little fishing village of Alvor.
In May 2016, I had a first (and hopefully not last) taste of wonderful Sicily on a terrific educational trip
Croatia blew me away – proud, respectful, warm and hospitable people in a country with a very Italian feel to it. Fantastic food, architecture and climate, and a great place to cycle.
Mauritius, which is an amazing, beautiful island with different things to do, from visiting the Botanical Gardens to shopping in Port Louis or water sports on the beach. It’s very easy to get around and the locals are really friendly. You can always escape the mayhem with a round of golf or chilling on the white sandy beaches with an iced drink.
Most Embarrassing Travel Experience?
At a 5-star hotel in Mauritius, eating lunch on the beach with people I had only met three days before. When we were told that we would be getting a helicopter to the next hotel I was so excited I leant back on my chair, fell backwards on to the sand and my skirt flew over my head.
