Originally built as a hat factory and tea salon in 1912, this gorgeous space was launched as a boutique hotel 101 years later.
This 12-story, 197-room hotel features custom furniture, original artwork, industrial-chic design, 12-ft high ceilings, Frette linens and a 24-hour fitness centre. The property also hosts Parker & Quinn, an American bistro, Winnie’s jazz lounge and a year round Refinery Rooftop featuring views of the Empire State Building.
Location
Refinery is located on a bustling block of the Fashion District next to couture houses, stalwart wholesalers and eco startups. There is much industrial and fashion history on the doorstep alone.
A few blocks north are Times Square and the Theatre District, and Hell's Kitchen and Fifth Avenue Shopping are close by. This is a central location, smack in the middle of the city's east and west sides, and a meandering walk or quick subway ride to Gramercy Park, the Flatiron District and the East Village.

Through the vintage archway in the lobby is Winnie’s Jazz Lounge, a true gem among Midtown bars and lounges. Named after Miss Winifred T. McDonald, who ran the bustling tea salon and the original site in the Colony Arcade Building, the bar puts a modern twist on Winnie’s gin, served in teacups with scones, jams and cream to stylish women in need of respite after shopping on Fifth Avenue and unwelcome at the area’s bars. Today, dapper mixologists serve inventive cocktails and pour from an extensive whisky selection.
Refinery’s signature stamp on New York restaurants is Parker & Quinn, considered a cross between an English pub and a Parisian wine bar. Parker & Quinn serves American fare with regional twists. The head chef Jeff Haskell was on the winning team on Food Network's 2011 Iron Chef America show.

Paying tribute to its location in the heart of New York’s creative hub, Refinery Hotel has transformed the building’s loading dock into The Hatbox: a raw, industrial gallery space that serves as a blank canvas for curated art, fashion, and cultural programming.
Boasting two-story ceilings and blank white walls, The Hatbox functions as the perfect venue for industry creatives to install pop-up shops, host media and launch events, conduct film and photo shoots and produce runway shows, presentations, sample sales, trunk shows and other fashion-oriented events.
