What a surprise and a pleasure it was to receive an invite to Amsterdam from renowned river cruise company, Uniworld. Having never seen a river cruise or know what one entails it was a wonderful experience for me. Every ship in their fleet is one-of-a-kind. We were lucky enough to see the River Ambassador and the SS Antoinette, both very different but both offer an exclusive boutique luxury experience, from artwork to exquisite furnishings. Once on board – along with the all-inclusive highlights you get a personalised excursion each day and, when docked in Amsterdam, a fantastic afternoon visit to Keukenhof Gardens. They are only open for eight weeks a year, so our timing was perfect, and this was just one of many trips included in the full cruise. It was a long and fun-packed day, very well organised by Uniworld. The luxury and attention to detail on these voyages makes it a wonderful choice for a boutique river cruise.
