Training Day: Essential Detail in The Caribbean

Abbotts Travel staff with Francesca D'Marco from Essential Detail

Francesca looks happy. That's probably because she has a portfolio of 10 Caribbean hotels to promote. That's why she visited us this week, in her role as Marketing Manager for Essential Detail, to tell us more about these quirky boutique places to stay. We particularly liked Little Good Harbour in Barbados - a small, “all-suite" beachfront property in a quiet fishing village on the north west coast featuring local art and Balinese furnishings - probably more famous for its waterfront restaurant, The Fish Pot, which attracts the international jetset. We also loved Curtain Bluff in Antigua. It's been under the same private ownership for over 50 years - this property has a real world-class feel, excellent for families with lots of activities to keep the younger guests entertained. Bequia Beach Hotel in the Grenadines - visited recently by our Alexis – is located on one of the most beautiful stretches of beach and is a true hideaway island off the usual tourist track. Retaining a true Caribbean charm with a fabulous restaurant right on the water's edge, fantastic diving, hiking or visiting deserted beaches are the ideal pastimes here or maybe even try a sailing trip or snorkelling with turtles. We loved this property so much that we thought it deserved to be featured as part of our Destination of the Month for August. One of our personal favourites though has to be East Winds in St Lucia - lucky Alexis visited here too (I'm seeing a pattern forming). This is one of our best selling properties in St Lucia - boutique style, adults-only and all-inclusive. Famed for its repeat custom, one guest is said to have visited more than 30 times! We find Essential Detail a fabulous supplier – they have worked very hard to handpick a selection of wonderful properties to suit all requirements. Many thanks to Francesca for bringing us up to date. If you're Caribbean keen, please get in touch for more information.
