First Look – Royal Mansour Marrakech

March 8, 2017

An enchanting place set in a captivating city, Royal Mansour Marrakech reflects the beauty, culture and vivacity of traditional Morocco while also meeting the desires of every modern traveller.

There are no suites or rooms here. Instead, the property has 53 riads (a traditional Moroccan structure) built to palatial standards – something they claim is unique.

Each one spans three floors and the larger riads include a fireplace on the rooftop, swimming pool, steam rooms, Hamman and a designated butler.

A nice touch: the roofs are equipped with sensors and automatically close at the first drop of rain.

The design includes underground tunnels to each riad, accessible only to staff and guaranteeing privacy and discretion to guests.

The newly extended gardens comprise intimate walkways twisting and turning among the greenery, while the hotel’s medina is a closely-knit space, which now opens up onto a lush landscaped terrain.

Luis Vallejo, who devised every shape, colour and scent, took inspiration from indigenous and Spanish influences.

The hotel's newest restaurant is Le Jardin, led by chef Yannick Alléno. His kitchen has brilliant ways of sourcing and preparing meats, handling shellfish, slow cooking garden vegetables, preparing sushi, sashimi and ceviche, and marrying sweet and savoury flavours.

A glimpse of the menu will reveal langoustine tartare with gem lettuce softened in soya; spiced tuna sashimi; raw, cooked and fried artichokes; sugar-crusted apricot on herb and orange tabouleh; and confit pumpkin with sweet spices and lemongrass tea.

Three other restaurants are available, including La Table and La Grande Table Française.

Guests at the Royal Mansour Marrakech will enjoy complimentary airport transfer, a round-the-clock concierge service and the chance to explore Morocco many ways, including horse and carriage tours, hot air balloon flights and a day trip to the Sahara Desert.

We can, of course, help you experience all this first hand – just say the word.
