Back to school

Aishling (Iberostar), Julie, Sophie and Shubhra (Prestige)

Things were hotting up last week, when Julie and I were sent back to school.

Hosted by Shubhra Halliday from Prestige Holidays and Aishling McLoughlin from Iberostar, the evening was held at Waitrose Cookery School.

Alongside a handful of other agents, we were coupled into teams and set the task of preparing a Spanish-themed meal of pork salted potatoes with a spicy sauce.

It was an episode of MasterChef in the making, with our meal set to appeal to the panel of Shubra and Aishling, alongside the school's chefs.

Cooking is not my forte but despite the slight concern that Julie and I would end up poisoning the judges, it turns out we cooked up a storm.

The end product was a very tasty meal, the result of great teamwork, and we were pleasantly surprised by our newfound talent.

The end result

There was however, more to the evening. Shubhra and Aishling brought us together to talk about some of Iberostar's incredible properties in Mallorca, including Playa de Palma and Grand Portals Nous.

The Iberostar Playa de Palma is a fantastic family property with luxury facilities and a host of activities - from scuba diving to relaxing in the spa and health resort. There's also an award-winning restaurant, frequented by both guests and locals, where you can stop off and try a selection of the island's delicious recipes, such as frito mallorquín and the famous roast suckling pork.

The brand new Iberostar Grand Portals Nous has created a sanctum of peace and tranquillity that only a childfree hotel could manage. With a relaxed atmosphere, themed suites including the Naughty Suite (which I'll leave to your imagination) and a guest experience service where all you have to do is ask – this could be the place where dreams really do come true.

The adults-only theme has extended beyond the hotel, with the launch of Star Prestige, giving VIP access to superior rooms, personalised services, exclusive adults-only areas and luxury facilities.

A massive thank you to Shubhra and Aishling for such a fantastic experience.
