Yogi Sophie at Hotel Camiral

January 5, 2018

We’re firm fans of Hotel Camiral, so much so we’re running out of staff to send there. Luckily, Sophie volunteered to be smothered in luxury. Here’s how her trip went.

“I was invited to Spain by Victoria from JG Collection to experience the PGA Catalunya Hotel Camiral, and I couldn’t have been more excited.

I met my travel companions at London Gatwick, where we flew with Vueling Airlines for the short trip.

On arrival we were collected by a luxury transfer, before being whisked to Hotel Camiral and checked into our superior rooms.

The rooms were absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean and ultra modern, with a lovely bottle of champagne left for each of us.

We had just enough time to freshen up before heading to the pool area to enjoy the sunshine and nibbles, which the hotel staff had kindly laid out for us (I could get used to this!).

The rest of the afternoon was spent checking out the resort facilities, including the amazing 18-hole golf course, wellness area, kids area and adventure park. They also have a fishing pond and plans to build football pitches and a horse riding area, which would be fantastic.

An afternoon wine tasting session with the use of flowers to bring out the different flavours was a unique experience that can be pre-booked for clients who are interested.

A private dinner was booked for 8pm in the hotel, which provided the most incredible array of food, giving us a real taste of options available at the hotel’s restaurant. The yummy food continued the next morning, when we were treated to a wonderful breakfast, including freshly cooked omelettes, cereals, fruit yoghurts and much more.

The day was spent visiting Salvador Dali’s Museum in Pubol, a Japanese lunch at the old lighthouse which doubles up as a restaurant called Nomo Llafranc and a full tour of Girona. I didn’t realise just how many Game of Thrones’ scenes were filmed in the city.

I got the chance to try something new, yoga, which was completely alien to me. If I’m honest, I loved it. A few in the group decided to give it a go and after all the hard work, treated ourselves to a swim in the pool.

The final evening was spent in Hotel Camiral’s restaurant, 1477, enjoying several Spanish delicacies.

It was such an incredible trip and one I was very sad to reach the end of. A special thanks goes to Victoria from JG Collection and Frederico at PGA Catalunya, for taking such great care of us.
