The IBEROSTAR fan club

We’re IBEROSTAR superfans.

If you visit us in store, it’ll be hard to find a member of the team that hasn’t been to one of the glorious properties spread out across the globe.

It’s hard to pinpoint what it is about IBEROSTAR that we’re so fond of: beautiful locations, impeccable service, taste-tingling food. They just have it all.

So we thought we’d let the team fill you in on their IBEROSTAR experiences over the last few months.

Alexis at IBEROSTAR Anthelia, Tenerife

Initial thoughts? This is truly a 5 star property. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with champagne before being shown to our room. The hotel is in a perfect position right next to the beach and close to all the amenities.

How was your room? The rooms are really contemporary and have all been refurbished to a high standard. Our room was overlooking the sea, with a fantastic rain shower. The grounds of the hotel were also fantastic. There are a few pools to choose from, which means finding a sun lounger was never a problem. We also watched a great Motown show and a fantastic gymnastics show round the pool during the day.

How was the food? The food was out of this world. From fresh meat and fish, to every kind of salad and pasta you could think of. Nobody would go hungry here. You can also have champagne and caviar with your breakfast, which is the best way to start your day. Staff go the extra mile. We were only there for five days, but a few days in the waiter already knew what drinks we liked.

Personal highlight? My trip was topped off with my partner popping the question, making this a truly special place. He asked me to be his wife in the most magical setting and it’s a moment I will cherish forever. Massive thanks to Iberostar for helping make me the happiest girl alive!

Would you recommend to clients? I would highly recommend this hotel to adults and families without a doubt it’s absolutely fantastic. It’s not hard to see why they have so many returning clients.

Carly at IBEROSTAR Grand Hotel Portals Nous, Majorca

How was your check-in? Our check in was nice and smooth, we met our butler Juan who made sure we were looked after throughout the whole stay, he was lovely. He also parked our hire car a couple of times which was very handy.

Tell us about the room. We stayed in the Executive Double room, which was gorgeous. We loved the setup, the bathrobes and the beach bag with the towels and flip flops was a great touch. The Bulgari toiletries were gorgeous. The design of the rooms are really quirky, which matches the modern twist on the hotel. Our favourite suite was definitely the Stargazer Suite. Being located so close to the beach was perfect. We literally opened the door from our room, stepped out onto the patio and were overlooking a small sandy beach with crystal clear water.

How was the food? The food was amazing. My favourite was breakfast, the setting outside in the sunshine and the presentation with the small pastries was perfect.

Did you enjoy the facilities? We enjoyed the use of the pool area, we found it really chilled. We went very late in September so never felt overcrowded. We used the spa on a couple of occasions, my other half is a massive spa lover. The only thing missing was a Jacuzzi.

Would you recommend to clients? Of course I would recommend IBEROSTAR Hotels & Resorts to my clients, it’s a great product.

Julie at IBEROSTAR Grand Hotel El Mirador, Tenerife

Initial thoughts? I had a fabulous experience at Grand El Mirador with my husband Ian. On arrival we were amazed with the grand entrance reception area and a friendly team on the reservations desk. Our check-in experience felt private and luxurious as we were seated in a luxury “office style” reception and handed a glass of bubbly.

Tell us about the restaurants and facilities. There were three restaurants and a snack bar. We were booked on a half board basis, which entitled us to dine in the main restaurant and once in the El Cenadaur and the La Pergola, the two A’La Carte restaurants.

Due to our early arrival, our room was not ready so we were given a voucher for lunch in the snack bar – which was very kind.

We dined in the El Cenadaur and the La Pergola A’La Carte offerings, which we felt were very upmarket and refined. The menu was varied and very tasty - Ian is a foodie and quite critical but was overwhelmed with the choices and standard in all of the restaurants.

Again breakfast at the El Mirador restaurant had a luxury feel and bubbly was available at breakfast.

Were you happy with your room? We stayed in a Junior Suite, which was comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities. The entry level rooms are Junior suites, whilst at most other properties this would be 3 or 4 room categories up. We were given a complimentary beach bag, bathrobe and use of beach towels, which was a very nice touch.

How were the facilities? I am a big fan of R&R and couldn’t wait to sample the swimming pool area and sunbathing area - again this was luxurious. You did not have to fight for sunbeds - in fact quite the opposite - as soon as you appeared at the pool area, an attendant was available to assist you with a sunbed.

At 12.00 every day a complimentary cocktail was brought round to all of the guests.

I felt totally pampered and every staff member had a smile on their face. The service was impeccable, every meal that was served to us was delicious and we had a beachfront location with a few shops and bars nearby.

Personal highlight? My particular highlight was grabbing a cocktail in the bar as we watched the sun go down.

Would you recommend to clients? Definitely. Since returning from the hotel I have made two bookings, one of which travelled in December, a regular visitor to Tenerife who normally stays elsewhere (I think he has now been converted!)

Rose at IBEROSTAR Grand Hotel El Mirador, Tenerife

Personal highlight? The whole experience was a highlight at the IBEROSTAR Hotel.

What room did you stay in? We were extremely close to the beach in a beautiful junior suite with two bathrooms and a walk-in wardrobe.

Tell us about the food. The gastronomy was good and varied, and we also made good use of other facilities including the spa, gym and the onsite hairdresser.

How was the service? The staff were exemplary in every way and so friendly. When I returned home, I had to email the hotel and let them know how wonderful they were.

Would you recommend to clients? I LOVE this hotel and can’t fault a thing. It’s one I would definitely recommend to clients.

Sharron at IBEROSTAR Playa del Palma, Majorca

Personal highlight? My highlight was definitely the rooftop adult-only terrace (although there should probably be a loo up there).

Tell us about your room. A stone's throw away from the beach, we had a double room with a sea view, which was very spacious with fabulous decor.

How was the food? The food was always fresh, with a fantastic choice and we enjoyed the champagne bar of an evening. The staff were always there to greet us with a smile and we were well looked after.

Would you recommend to clients? I would recommend this place with no hesitation, I’ve already made three bookings.
