Firmly entrenched as our first “must attend” supplier event of the year and always eagerly anticipated, the Hotelopoly once again lived up to expectation.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to catch up with established associates from some of the world’s most spectacular independently owned hotels along with meeting new ones on the scene.
Add a touch of style and elegance in a spectacular London venue and the scene is set for team GP Associates’ annual showcase of its impressive portfolio.
I had never previously seen inside the famous Freemasons Hall near Covent Garden and the GP design team had integrated their layout as impressively as usual.
Sharron and I worked our way across the venue and around the “Hotelopoly” board, stopping initially in Italy, Greece and Spain to talk with several suppliers before finding the impressive Waffle Bar, resplendent with its magnificent marshmallow tree.
On route to the US, we were presented with the greatest canapé I have ever seen – a mini cooked English breakfast served in a delightful stylish mini frying pan. It tasted as good as it looked and I haven’t stopped talking about it since.
We spent some time looking at the Montage and Pendry Hotels across America before a quick visit to the exhibitors from further afield (Caribbean, Borneo and Fiji) and finishing with those closest to home across the UK and Ireland.
We will share some of those we particularly love over the months ahead including some worthy additions to our First Look series in Forte dei Marmi’s - Hotel Byron and a fantastic new addition to the offering at Halkidiki's wonderful Danai Beach Resort & Villas.
