We've been to the Grand Hotel Gardone on Lake Garda several times, which is a testimony in itself. It doesn't disappoint. And being regular returnees, we are always allocated accommodation in the part of the hotel we prefer.
The staff are charming, the food is excellent and the view of the lake worth every penny of this not cheap holiday. I should also mention that it is not a hotel for young people - families or otherwise. Most of the clientele are, like us, silver tops, and many, like us, are regular returnees.
Julie Gooding is the Abbots rep who has always dealt with our holiday requirements, which started way back when we booked a holiday to Boston.
More recent trips have been to nearer shores, but we can relax in the knowledge that Julie will take care of our requirements with her usual patience and attention to detail, which is greatly appreciated.
The team in South Woodford are friendly and helpful, should I pop in on a day Julie is out.
