Introducing Judith Richards, florist

Judith Richards, Blush Temples

Our sparkly badge of membership to the Redbridge chapter of Business Network International (BNI) means we’re well connected.

When you come into the shop or speak to us to book your next dream holiday, we can also recommend a photographer, videographer, personal trainer, or even a plumber to fix that leaky tap.

Representing over 90 high quality local companies, we’ve got a reliable contact for anything you require and we now have a new display board in store if you want to pick up details personally.

This month we’re introducing Judith Richards, who has been running her Blush Temples floristry business in Essex and East London for 15 years.

Ask Judith to name the best thing about her job and she answers instantly, "people are always pleased to see me. That's the magic of flowers. They lift people's mood. They make people happy.’’

She is busier and more in demand than ever. Working from a specially-built studio in Buckhurst Hill, the company creates individually designed bouquets, arrangements and displays for every need and occasion, including weddings, christenings, parties, anniversaries and funerals.

Judith's bespoke personal touch is so highly-rated she also has corporate contracts to supply and maintain flowers and plants for major business clients such as Barratt Homes – whom she has served for more than 10 years - and FBN Bank in the City.

"I don't have set packages. Every occasion is different. So every piece of work I do is different, according to the needs, wishes, desires and budget of the client.’’

"It’s such a rewarding job," Judith adds. "You get to be creative and inspired. And you get to see how happy your work makes people. Even at funerals you get that feeling. They are sad occasions but you know that the flowers help people. They bring grace, elegance and a little comfort."

When the opportunity arose to buy the Blush Temples florist shop in Wanstead High Street, Judith leaped at the new challenge. She then did a two-year intensive floristry course at Capel Manor College, the world-famous institution set amid extensive gardens and nurseries in Enfield.

"I loved running the shop," Judith recalls. "We did much more than flowers. There were gifts, jewellery, garden furniture as well."

Later Judith moved with the times and took the business online and to her new studio which has enhanced her creative ideas and the ability to provide those extra personal touches.

She's still in the business of putting a smile on people's faces and luckily for Judith, it puts a smile on her face every day, too.
