Situated in the spectacular Atlas Mountains in Morocco, the award-winning Kasbah Tamadot was bought by Sir Richard Branson during one of his famous ballooning expeditions.
Each of the 28 rooms and suites has been individually decorated to reflect the beautiful architecture of the building and features antiques from all over the world.
Morocco is served by direct flights from the UK, with flight times to Marrakech of between 3-4 hours, from where a short drive takes you to this mountain paradise.
Kasbah Tamadot has 28 bedrooms and suites including ten luxury Berber Tents, some of which have private plunge pools.
All are individually decorated using traditional Moroccan furnishings and antiques, as well as items from the vast collection of Luciano Tempo, Kasbah Tamadot's former owner.
As a renowned antiques dealer and interior designer, Luciano brought together artefacts from all over the world, many of which feature in the bedrooms.
Each room has a uniquely descriptive Berber name which tells you something about it.
The main building contains 15 original rooms and suites, an indoor pool, spa, a library, reflecting pool, restaurant and bar, roof terrace and main reception. Just off the main courtyard is the Asmoun Lounge.
Adjacent to the main building is the heated outdoor infinity pool, hot tub, amphitheatre, sundeck, gym, spa treatment room and a collection of fruit trees.
On the far side of the infinity pool from the main building is the 3-bedroom Master Suite. This miniature version of Kasbah Tamadot has a private pool and is ideal for families.
Continue exploring and you’ll find the gardens, tennis courts, mule shed and Berber Tents. There are 10 tents, six of which have private jacuzzis, and all have spacious decks and views over the valley and the mountains. You’re also invited to meet the resident camels, mules and donkeys.
All rooms and suites are furnished with plush bath robes, filtered bottles of water, docking stations for playing music, a selection of toiletries, slippers, sun hats, postcards with stamps and all the contents of your minibar which are also complimentary. Televisions with DVD players are available on request.
With an intimate fireside bar for pre-dinner cocktails and a stunning dining area complete with wonderful views, Kanoun Restaurant serves delicious local and international cuisine. The menu marries local produce and flavours and is served with a great selection of international and Moroccan wines. Kanoun is open for all hotel guests and casual lunch diners on request.
Dinner is served in a variety of settings and locations. If the weather is right, dine al fresco next to the beautiful infinity pool bar, on the rooftop terrace underneath the stars, or somewhere private just for two.
For those guests not planning to travel from the hotel, a full board option is available (breakfast is included in all rates). This gives the full range of choices from the à la carte menu.
If Moroccan food appeals, take a cookery lesson. The chefs will walk you step-by-step through how to make some of the more popular dishes. Sessions take place in the afternoon and last approximately three hours. Each budding chef will have their own cooking station where you'll create a delicious 3-course meal including salads, soup, tagines and dessert.
You’ve come away on holiday to relax, right? The Asounfou Spa has a range of skincare and body treatments for men and women. Asounfou, the Berber word for relaxation, describes the beauty treatment rooms perfectly.
For a true Moroccan experience try a Hammam, where the skin is deeply cleansed, purified and softened with the traditional cleansing ritual.
A stay at Kasbah Tamadot is like being in your very own Moroccan home. The feeling you get on arrival is hard to beat so like many, you’ll just need to keep coming back.
