On the road: Top 5 stays in Bali

Bali’s beauty goes deeper than its eye catching exterior. If you know where to look, you can find some of the more luxurious resorts in the world. From private villas a step away from the beach, to breakfast overlooking a tranquil infinity pool at sunset, Bali offers is all.

I spent a week checking out the best of the bunch, for research purposes of course. Here’s our Top 5, Abbotts approved, resorts on the Island.

The Legian

On a quiet night, the resort sits a mere 25 minutes from the airport. Arriving in Seminyak, you’re in the heart of what draws tourists to Bali. From some of the swankiest bars to beautiful Balinese shops, the streets are filled with tourists from all over the world. Turn left through the gates of the exclusive Legian Resort, and the noise comes to an abrupt end.

Inside you’ll find the epitome of Balinese tranquility, with stone walls and eye-catching traditional features. Hotel room doors are built for the Lakers team, and even the most basic room will provide you with plentiful space overlooking the ocean.

All your mini-bar treats are complimentary, including the mouth-watering branded Balinese chocolate. It’s also replenished daily, just in case your midnight feast reaches new heights.

Jump in on the 8am yoga class next to the beach (weather permitting) or treat yourself to one of the spa treatments. Take a walk on the private stretch of beach, or jump into the infinity pool for that beautiful sunset instagram shot we all strive for.

Breakfast provided everything from traditional Balinese cuisine to guacamole and poached eggs, cooked just the way you like them. Plus they have a separate vegetarian menu, leaving all you veggies spoilt for choice.
