Malta is the breeding ground for rocky stretches of coast with glorious bays that hide crystal-clear waters and golden beaches. It’s one of our favourites at Abbotts Travel, so we were excited when Cyplon Holidays kindly invited us on a tour. Shelley keenly volunteered for the task and headed over to Malta for a brief visit…
“We stayed in The Palace Hotel, located in Sliema, which was lovely. It had a more grown-up vibe so I would recommend it to my clients looking for an adults-only holiday.
The weekend was spent visiting some beautiful resorts around the island, including Preluna Hotel & Spa, Dolmen Resort Hotel & Spa and Kempinski Hotel. They were all wonderful hotels, offering the perfect location to relax, but Kempinski was my favourite. It has lots more going on for families, including three swimming pools to choose from, as well as being great for couples/singles. As soon as I arrived the hotel had a unique feel and beautiful style.
Malta is full of history, with many sites and churches to explore. Mdina offers visitors the chance to explore a fortified city and the tour of Valletta is well worth doing.
Malta would be a perfect city trip choice, with two-nights added on for a visit to Gozo. The ferry between the islands is approximately 20 minutes and costs only 5 euros.
Gozo is a smaller island which feels more like a village. It’s less built-up than Malta, giving it a more authentic charm. From Gozo you can see the island of Camino, which currently holds a population of three.”
