Guest Blog: Atmosphere Kanifushi, The Maldives

The picture postcard views from The Maldives.

We have talked about a trip to the Maldives for a while, but research on the internet was so confusing.

However, a quick chat with Julian - and Abbott’s fantastic knowledge on all destinations - meant that a couple of days later, we booked.

After a good flight with BA to Male and a slick transfer via the hotel’s own lounge facility, we headed to Atmosphere Kanifushi.

This involved an exciting seaplane journey flying over the island before landing at paradise. I think that is the only way we can describe it.

After a lovely welcome our butler, Hasan, whisked us off by buggy to our Pool Villa. The moment we arrived we knew this was going to be a very special holiday. Everything was provided in the room, including a Bluetooth sound system and a mobile phone to call Hasan and request a bottle (or two) of whatever we would like to drink, including the very best French wines.

Ice and fresh fruit were delivered daily.

The excursions were fantastic, from snorkelling on the great reefs, swimming with manta rays and green turtles, to speedboating alongside splashing dolphins.

The food was excellent with a choice of restaurants, our favourites being The Teppanyaki Grill and Just Veg - if you do visit, make sure you meet VJ in the Sunset Bar, he is a legend.

The whole experience was amazing. From the moment we arrived, the staff were all fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. We were there for 10 days but did not want to leave, and will definitely go back one day.

A big thanks to all at Abbotts for recommending this fantastic resort and providing us with a very special holiday.
