“This was our first time booking with Abbotts Travel and they were brilliant. Sharron was extremely helpful in guiding us to choose the perfect holiday.
We were keen to visit somewhere new and as we were celebrating our ten year wedding anniversary, we were looking for somewhere romantic too. Sorrento seemed to be the perfect place, so we booked for five days at the end of June.
We stayed at the Grand Hotel Capodimonte and it was beautiful. We had a private transfer included in our package, which was great. They have very comfortable cars and offer water and sweets on arrival, which is a lovely little extra especially after a flight.
The five cascading pools in the hotel were incredible and they were complemented by beautiful views overlooking the city of Sorrento, Mount Vesuvius and the Gulf of Naples. The hotel was very clean and spacious and the food was really tasty.
We did a day trip to Capri which was a wonderful experience. Arranged by the hotel, we got to take a boat trip to and around the island to see all the sights, before spending the day exploring Capri and Anacapri at our own leisure. The island was beautiful and it was a worthwhile day out.
We also went to Pompeii for an afternoon which was interesting. Ryan really loves history so he thoroughly enjoyed our trip. We also enjoyed walks all around Sorrento, taking in the beautiful scenery and eating all the very tasty food.
I would highly recommend visiting Sorrento town as it really is beautiful and there is so much to see and do. Getting around is really easy, either by foot or jumping on one of the trains.
I would definitely recommend the Grand Hotel Capodimonte as it has some of the best views in the area. I would also recommend staying for a minimum of 5-7 days as there is so much to see and do. We already want to go back and see some of the Amalfi coast as we didn’t have time to both relax and fit in all the tours and days out.
We were so so pleased with all the advice and service given by Sharron. She got a great deal for us and everything was perfect. We look forward to using Abbotts Travel again in the near future.”
