Ischgl, Austria

Julian went snowboarding to Ischgl, a ski resort village in western Austria’s Paznaun Valley. Many of the lifts and cable cars converge on the Idalp plateau, and provide access to the larger Silvretta Arena ski area. The town is known for its lively après-ski scene. Trails in the surrounding mountains lead to Alpine lakes like the Vidersee.

The skiing is awesome in Austria and from Ishcgl you can even ski into Switzerland and into the duty-free town of Samnanun.

With brilliantly linked runs, great snow, bronze, silver and gold circuits for all abilities and levels and heated seats on the chair lifts!

There are excellent mountain restaurants and night life for those that like to après-ski. It's the only ski resort with a Pacha nightclub where you can party all night long.

'The Hotel' is lovely with great breakfasts to set you up for the day, helpful staff who give good tips and advice.

Ischgl is a great base for a weekend away skiing with short transfers from Innsbruck airport - approx an hour.
